Travel agents conference in Mauritius ...

Some 120 travel agents from the UK-based Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) are meeting in Mauritius from June 8-12 for a conference showcasing the Indian Ocean.Organised by Beachcomber in collaboration with the Mauritius Tourist Promotion Authority, the conference is grouping AITO travel agents specializing in Indian Ocean destinations.

Seychelles will be represented by Nathalie Savy, Destination Marketing Manager for the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) and Serge Robert of Mason’s Travel, which works in partnership with Beachcomber. The five-day conference will include business sessions, presentations about destinations, and lectures from guest speakers.

Seychelles has the opportunity to be showcased in a destination feature session and workshop sessions with each travel agent providing key educational insights as to why they should sell Seychelles.“Travel agents tend to steer their clients toward the destinations they are more knowledgeable about and feel comfortable about selling to ensure they close a sale, so this event will give us some valuable one-on-one opportunities to better educate travel agents that are selling Seychelles alongside our competitors,” said Ms Savy.
